Established in 1971 on 50 acres of a typical natural Mediterranean wooded setting it benefits from the privileged climate of the French Riviera - more than 250 sunshine days a year.

All along your visit, at walk or in your car, you will discover more than 130 different animal species from the 5 continents. From the smallest, the Cotton Top Tamarin (Saguinus oedipus) to the biggest, the Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus); from mammals to birds and reptiles, everyone will find a point of interest.

But beyond the pleasure of sight, the first calling of the Parc Zoologique de Fréjus is to introduce the visitor to the wild fauna, very often endangered in its original habitat. Our ambitious aim is to add our contribution to the protection of wildlife by ensuring breeding of the most fragile species, specially those endangered or threatened of extinction. To carry this vast and ambitious project to a successful conclusion our Park has been developed in order to respect the requirements that affect acclimation, having in mind the breeding of the species we host. It is an evidence that an outdoor life all the year long with a long lasting sunshine period are, among others, undisputable assets and advantage the breeding of many species. The quality of food is an important part in the success of our concern and we make it a point of honor to provide only fresh food in respect with the particular diet of each specie. The recent events - BSE - reinforce the relevance of our processes.

Our efforts are regularly rewarded by numerous birth of common and endangered species - Tiger (Panthera tigris), Leopard (Panthera pardus) - Ruffed Lemur (Varecia variegata).

We are also here to make you discover the special relationship that can be developed between man and animal. This is shown in the game played by our trainers with Tigers.
